MISSION
In the wake of tsunami calamities on ’ December 2004 and to tide over the after effects of the tsunami disaster the Jesuit team called Kalangarai who worked in the area for tsunami relief service found out that imparting skill training to youth would give perspective to life and provide means of livelihood. And hence Jesuits started St. Joseph’s Community College in 2005 to provide technical skills in House Electrician, Desk-Top Publishing’ Refrigeration and Air- conditioning Technician and Health Assistant as approved by Tamil Nadu Open University. So far 2500 students have undergone skill training in the college and are well placed in jobs.
The Jesuit Madurai Province took the need-based analysis and decided to start a Multi-skill Coaching Centre in the same Community College campus. It is to give multi-skills to the technical students to international standards in order to get jobs abroad or in big corporations in India from July 2024.
